Blurred Lines – Robin Thicke (feat. T.I. & Pharrell Williams)
I know this song has been out for a while now, but I honestly hadn’t heard it before clicking on to iTunes this morning to find it at number 1. Personally, I think Robin Thicke is a huge pussy but thanks to the production skills of Mr. Williams, this song is rather catchy. Everything Pharrell touches turns to gold (see Daft Punk’s new album).
Even more entertaining, is the video for this song. Nice crotch grabs T.I., I’m assuming this is a residual defense mechanism from your stint in the clink? The selection of models is top notch — I love the red head with the skin-tone snatch patch — but I think what we’ve learned here is that models have no rhythm. Which is fine. This is not what they’re paid for.
Finally, anyone who brags about the size of their junk in the form of giant balloons probably has a teeny, tiny penis. All that said, it’s still a good song:
Black Skinhead – Kanye West
Kanye released his new album Yeezus — not to be mistaken with Jesus — last week (see Jon Dolan’s review for Rolling Stone). While I haven’t had time to rip through the entire album yet, the first single Black Skinhead, which also appears on the soundtrack to Scorsese’s new film The Wolf of Wall Street, is pretty badass. Take a listen:
Another track worth noting - I Am a God (feat. God). That’s right folks, the big man upstairs has crossed over into the hip hop genre. In other news, Kanye named his child with ol’ what’s her chops North. North West. He’s on a roll.
Terrible Disguise – Moxi
Mainstream music aside, an artist I’m currently crushing on is Moxi, aka Anna Nelson. I’m going to check her out this Friday in LA at the Hotel Cafe. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop by, this gal is one to watch.
